Summer
June-August
Summer in Hakodate is comfortable with low humidity, and that is why people visit here to get relief from the heat. In July and August, there are outdoor festivals with fireworks events and parades of dancing people as well as plays and musical performances.
Climate and Clothing
Wearing short-sleeved clothes in the daytime is OK, but it might be cool sometimes. Take a jacket with you, since the temperature falls in the morning and at night. The temperature falls from the latter half of August. Wear a jacket or a shawl over long-sleeved clothes.

With temperature having risen, summer is the best season for viewing the night view. However, there might be a wind, being cold at the summit. It is better to take a jacket with you. Mysterious “foggy night view” and isaribi (lamps on squid fishing boats) might be seen.
