South Korea’s low-cost carrier Jeju Air launched a new international regular flight route between Incheon Airport and Hakodate Airport on June 5.

This marks the first regular international flight between Hakodate and Incheon in 13 years, since Korean Air suspended its service in 2012. The new route is expected to increase the number of travelers, including tourists from South Korea.

On June 5, the day of the inaugural flight, local mascots from the Hakodate area and city officials welcomed passengers at the international terminal of Hakodate Airport.
