On June 28, 2026, traffic restrictions will be implemented throughout Hakodate City due to the Hakodate Marathon. As a result, tram and bus services may experience delays and schedule disruptions from approximately 8:50 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please plan your travel accordingly.

For those using rental cars or taxis, traffic restrictions will be in effect at various locations throughout the city. Please follow the instructions of on-site staff and traffic control signs and use designated detour routes to reach your destination.

National Route 5 will remain open to traffic throughout the day.

In addition, the Hakodate Kinen (GIII) horse race will be held at Hakodate Racecourse on the same day. Heavy congestion is expected around the racecourse, and trams and buses are also expected to be crowded. Please allow extra time for your journey.
