There have been reports of dangerous behavior such as entering the tracks (the rail area) where the tram run to take photos. For the safety of everyone and the smooth operation of the tram, we strongly ask that you follow the points below.

[No Entry into the Tracks (Rail Area)]
According to the Road Traffic Act and the Tramway Transport Regulations, pedestrians are prohibited from entering the tracks (rail area) where trams operate. The Hakodate City Transportation Bureau also prohibits photography within the tracks. Even a brief entry may disrupt operations and cause an emergency stop of the tram. Please absolutely refrain from doing so.

[No Stopping or Photography on Crosswalks]
Crosswalks are for crossing the road safely. Staying or taking photos on a crosswalk obstructs the operation of trams and other pedestrians. Please do not do this under any circumstances.

[To Tourists and Photographers]
Please enjoy taking photos of the trams from safe locations such as sidewalks or safety zones along the route. Do not cross through the track area to reach the safety zone.
